چکیده

Methods We enrolled 10 patients (5 for the experimental group, and 5 for control group) with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, treated for up to 4 individual sessions of 40 minutes, according to a Self-correction of the scoliotic curve learning approach. Inclusion criteria: Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis Cobb degrees range between 15 ° and 30 ° Patients with, or without, brace treatment The control group, mean age 12.4 years, Risser 2.6 and degrees Cobb 14.8 °, was driven to the learning of Self-correction in the traditional way (verbal approach and passive movement) while with the experimental group, mean age 13.2 years, Risser 3 and degrees Cobb 15.2, we introduced using of the BPU to obtain the vertebral derotation [3]. Patients were subjected to analysis of posture with Formetric in 1 ^ seated (at rest) and 2^, 3^ and 4 ^ session (position of Self-correction), to evaluate the timing, and the ability to learn.

Generating the Visual Biofeedback Signals Applicable to Reduction of Wrist Spasticity: A Pilot Study on Stroke Patients

Introduction: Application of biofeedback techniques in rehabilitation has turned into an exciting research area during the recent decade. Providing an appropriate visual or auditory biofeedback signal is the most critical requirement of a biofeedback technique. In this regard, changes in Surface Electromyography (SEMG) signals during wrist movement can be used to generate an indictable visual b...

Concurrent validity of the pressure biofeedback unit and surface electromyography in measuring transversus abdominis muscle activity in patients with chronic nonspecific low back pain.

BACKGROUND The Pressure biofeedback unit (PBU) is an assessment tool used in clinical practice and research aimed to indirectly analyze the transversus abdominis (TrA) muscle activity. The concurrent validity of the PBU in a clinically relevant sample is still unclear. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the concurrent validity and diagnostic accuracy of the PBU in measuring T...

What is a Suitable Pressure for the Abdominal Drawing-in Maneuver in the Supine Position Using a Pressure Biofeedback Unit?

[Purpose] The aim of this study was to determine the appropriate pressure variation for performing a successful abdominal drawing-in maneuver (ADIM). The abdominal muscle thickness variations and contraction ratios were examined in relation to pressure variations using a Pressure Biofeedback Unit (PBU) during an ADIM in the supine position. [Methods] The PBU was placed identically between the l...

Beat-to-Beat Blood Pressure Biofeedback as a Supplementary Treatment for Arterial Hypertension Introduction: A lack of studies on the effects of continuous blood pressure biofeedback led to the development of a screening and feedback software allowing for a ‘beat-to-beat’ representation of arterial blood pressure. Through this method patients find that they can exert some control of their blood...
